Earlier this week we had all the talk about wedding dresses and stuff.... What was your first dance song (or will your first dance song be for those engaged)?
Ours was Me and You by Kenny Chesney... It was very fitting of our relationship so it was a no brainer.
Bonus: My father/daughter dance was I Loved Her First by Heartland... And my dad sang to me while we were dancing. I still cry thinking of that moment.
MH couldn't really decide on one for his mother/son dance so he just went with Hero by Mariah Carey... I can't remember why he said it meant something to him... I'm sure it was something to do with the military, but can't remember what he explained it as now.
Re: Curious... First Dance song?
"Thank You" by Led Zeppelin
My Dad and I danced to "Daddy's Little Girl." It is an old-timer song.
We almost went with that song. Instead, we chose "What Would I Do Without You" by Ray Charles. Hearing it now still gives me the happy tinglies
Our dance: Collide (acoustic version) by Howie Day
We did a joint father/daughter mother/son to "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong. I really wanted to do In My LIfe by the Beatles but at the time DH wasn't a Beatles fan. Sadly, about a year later he was like "this would have been cool" ARGH!
Our first dance was These Are The Days, Van Morrison
We also did a last dance to Israel Kamakawiwo Ole' - Somewhere Over the Rainbow
Because we couldn?t decide

My SIL did a Beatles themed wedding.... I think that was her dance... And she walked down the aisle to a Beatles song, but I'm drawing a blank on which one... And made all of the ushers (MH and his brothers) wear wigs and dress like the Beatles.... And.... I have a picture!
Ours was Born to Run- acoustic version- Bruce Springsteen-- that's what I get for marrying a Jersey boy
My father and I danced to Till There Was You- Beatles version- he used to sing it to me when I was little.
DH has been singing "My Girl" to Cammie since she was a newborn, substituting in her name- the other day he was singing it and I said "I guess you guys have your father daughter dance song" and he said "which one?"
our first dance was "i only have eyes for you"
we combined the father daughter/ mother son dance and danced to "sunrise sunset" as sung by robert goulet. we (and all of our friends) are big SNL fans and everyone was cracking up b.c of the will farrel goulet skit. DH also played the lead in fiddler in highschool and my parents danced to the song at their wedding.
Paul Brown / Lina - Say A Little Prayer
I Cross My Heart - George Strait
"I'll Cover You (reprise)," from the OBC recording of RENT. Nothing says eternal love like Jesse L Martin singing at his drag queen girlfriend's funeral.
My dad and I danced to Paul Simon's "Father and Daughter." Look it up, it's adorable.
This is fantastic!!!
LOVE!!! We used this for a slideshow at the RD!
I was REALLY leaning towards this one for a long time. I LOVE that song.
"Luckiest" by Ben Folds
My father and I also danced to Heartlands "I Loved Her First."
That one was on my list too. I love both of their music, so combined they put together a really good song!
I hope you dance - Leann Rimes (MH picked it)
I wanted at last by Etta James, so I ended up walking down the aisle to it.

I LOVE this song!
Ours was More by Bobby Darin and I changed out of my wedding gown into dance attire to swing dance. The father daughter song was Butterfly Kisses. I can't remember what the mother son song was.
Us too! I was wondering if I would come across this song on this post!
My dad passed away before we got married and I wanted to dance with my grandpa (my dads dad) but unfortunately he had a stroke right before our wedding so my cousin graciously asked if I would like to dance with her dad (my dads brother)! We danced to Butterfly Kisses! I played that song for my dad at his funeral 4 years prior to our wedding. I cried the entire dance....
Mother/Son dance was to You Raise Me Up by Josh Groben
Our World!!

Ours was "Only You" by The Platters.
Father-daughter--"Isn't She Lovely" by Stevie Wonder
Mother-son--"What a Wonderful World"
Our last dance was "When I'm 64" by The Beatles. One of my favorite memories from our wedding is everyone dancing to that.
You Are- by Jimmy Wayne.
I am not a country fan, but is not bad and DH actually suggested it. After listening to the lyrics, I was sold
