Natural Birth

Confused by what the hypnobirth instructor told me

I was told that the class offered at my hospital provides the CDs, but not the "self scripts". I'm not sure if that is something that I need or if the CDs will be sufficient.

Re: Confused by what the hypnobirth instructor told me

  • I only had a couple of scripts and we practiced with it a couple of times, but never used it while I was in labor.  The CDs were what really helped.

  • We never used the scripts, just the CDs.

  • I don't know much about hypnobirthing but I do know that hypnobabies has a supplemental set of scripts you can get from them if you decide you need them.

  • I'm getting ready to take class 4 of 6 this week, so maybe this will help. In the full 6-week hypnobabies course, you get a set of 4 cds, a quick reference guide, a scripts book and the big course manual. Selected tracks from the cds - deepening, joyful affirmations and the relaxation music - are the only things we're listening too right now. The scripts are a separate exercise that my birth partner (DH) reads to me every other day. Then I alternate the deepening cd the other days and listen to the affirmations every day, per teacher instructions.

If you're doing a home study program, all of this might not apply in the same way. I believe the home program has everything on the cds instead of a written script, but I'm not entirely sure. Hope that helps a little bit, I would check out their website for more instruction or talk to the instructor/seller about it. Good luck!
