Bassinet attachment for the City Select Double??

Does anyone own the bassinet attachment for their Baby Jogger City Select?

Im on the fence as to whether we need it or not, but I save money if I buy it ahead of time along with the rest of the stroller accessories. My oldest will be 22 months when my second baby arrives. I started thinking that I might want the bassinet to let the newborn sleep while I'm outside with my daughter or out on walks. My first daughter slept in her carseat while on walks in the BOB stroller (in the carseat attachment accessory), and I think over time she became accustomed to sleeping in an elevated position. My carseat is very upright, causing my daughters head and neck to tilt to one side when she was in it.

The carseat attachment for the City Select will certainly come in handy, but I think I'd like having the bassinet if we're just strolling around the neighborhood. Any thoughts from experienced moms or dads??

  • I have the bassinet attachment and we used it a lot with DS2. He hated the carseat so the bassinet was a good thing to use. I also used it outside when DS1 was playing which was nice b/c I could easily get DS2 inside in it. We also used it with our trip to disney world when ds2 was 8wks old. For us it was worth it.

  • We wanted the bassinet but it wasn't in our budget at the time.  I just took one of the seats and reclined it all the way (it's completely parallel to the ground when reclined).  We put a body positioner in the seat and he fit just fine from day 1.  If you have the money for the bassinet, I think it's great, but if not, the seat works fine on it's own. ** I will say that the manual says not to use it before 4 months I think, but (IMO) its more of a CYA kind of reasoning.

  • I used the bassinet a lot with my UppaBaby Vista. My DD hated getting strapped in, screaming and fussing to a point where I'd get really stressed out whenever we left the house. It was so easy to just stuff her in there with some blankets, and she never cried. I imagine it may be easier getting two kids ready with the bassinet.
