Hello All,
I wanted to provide a little info on my recent experience in case it can help anyone out there. I am 33, TTC for 2 years, and had 2 early losses (7 weeks) on Clomid. After the most recent loss, I did a 3D ultrasound and a new AFC to see if there was any explanations. While I was in shock when my results came back. My AFC had plummetted to 3 from 19 only 8 months earlier and they detected a scar band in my uterus, even though I have never had a D&C. I was diagnosed with Asherman's and ovarian failure and advised to start looking into donor eggs. I was crushed. I begged for a retest as I couldn't accept this was accurate. 2 weeks later I had a repeat test- i was told to stay on my clomid - well, I decided not to keep taking it because if I did have a "band" I didn't want to go through the pain of another loss without dealing with that first. Well yesterday, low and behold, the results, without any meds, showed no band and an AFC of 27 - i was soo happy! I was told it would not recover, once it is down it is down.- the OB believes my body was resisting the clomid and that was causing my low AFC - not sure if it's true but I wanted to let anyone who is in the same boat know in case they could be developing Clomid resistance. I was only on my 5 months at 100 mg. I have unexplained infertility and was ovulating on my own before meds. Hope this helps.
