Anyone know about Moby Wraps?

I never got into babywearing with Piper because it's rough on my back, but I've come to the realization that I need to utilize some type of carrier for Kadence, at least around the house while I'm on maternity leave.

I wanted something that was good for newborns and got a Moby Wrap. It's kind of frustrating though, I don't feel like I can get it on right or tight enough, or that I can get her in there correctly. I have her in there now and she seems comfortable (she actually fell asleep) but I wonder if she's too "scrunched"....her legs are bent, but what I really wonder about is that her head and neck are bent forward over towards her chest. Do I need to worry about constricting her airways or anything like that at all? It's really nice to be able to use both hands but I'm not sure about this Moby Wrap yet. Did anyone use one, or have another suggestion?

  • Get it as tight as you can.  It will loosen as you wear her.  I used videos from youtube.com to find the easiest way to get the wrap on and get Brenna into it.  They were invaluable for helping me get the hang of it.  I love the Moby wrap.  Unfortunately, I get puked on multiple times when I put my little spitter upper into it.  My other suggestion is to wash your wrap once a week because they stretch out.  Washing tightens the fabric back up.

  • Thanks for the youtube suggestion, I found some videos that were very helpful! I'm beginning to love this thing, Kadence is kind of a fussy girl and always wants to be held but she instantly falls asleep when I put her in it - it's so nice to be able to use my hands again!
