I am due July 10 and got an email from my MIL on March 10 wishing me a happy 4 more months. So if you count from March 10 to July 10, she is correct. But, I just reached the 6 month mark (4 months to go) on Tuesday. Can anyone explain this to me? I feel really dense. TIA

Re: Kinda confused about this...
I see from your ticker that you are 24 weeks. 24 divided by 4 is 6. But, not every month has just 4 weeks. If you do 40 divided by 4, you get ten months.
Maybe this is it?
agreed- not every month has 4 weeks. Plus, the doctors include the first couple of weeks after your period and before conception as part of the 40 weeks.
As PP said the number of weeks works out to be 10 months not 9. So being in your 6 months and having 4 to go is correct.
It really is very confusing and I'm not sure why they do it that way.
This. Though you are only actually pregnant for 38 weeks (if you go the whole 40) since the first two weeks are pre-ovulation. It is a little odd. I think that is why we pregnant women always state our weeks when asked and people always want to know how many months that is. I used to have a lot of fun when 36+ weeks with DS, telling people I was more than 9 months pregnant. It really confused them.
