Update to Auntie Post... question

So my neice was born this morning via c-section. The baby and momma had a fever so they were informed baby would be placed on antibiotics. Apparently, baby also had fluid in her lungs and bruising on her body... my brother and his wife have yet to hold their baby and have not been updated about her condition for over 2 hours... does anyone have any insight into what this could be? TIA for your insight

I don't know about all of the symptoms, but DS had a lot of bruising when he was born via c-section.  I would be demanding some updates though!

A family member had a fever towards the end of her labor.  The baby was put in the NICU for a week to be given antibiotics to prevent spread of any infection.  Your SIL may not be able to walk yet, but I'd think your brother could go see the baby.  He'd have to get all gowned up and stuff...

 Tell them to ring that nurse call button and let them know one of they need to go see the baby, at least one of them.

Thank you guys for your responses! I'm glad to report that baby and mother are doing well. Baby seems to be handling the antibiotics well. My brother finally got to hold her yesterday and he sent some cute pictures for us to see! Thanks again!!!
