3rd Trimester

Anyone with line indentations in legs?

Hi Ladies,

I noticed last night when I got off the treadmill that I had 3 slightly darker pigmented lines on calf with a very slight indentation to them. Very slight. Anyhow, I put my legs up drank a bunch of water put of some cooling pregnancy foot cream and went to bed. Got up this morning they were gone.

Then, tonight at dinner I noticed I had one appear again on the other lower leg with a slight indentation. Put my feet up and it seemed to help.

Is this just fluid getting stuck in these certain places. The rest of my ankles and legs do not appear swollen. But I am sure with the pregnancy there is some fluid maybe there just not as noticeable as you would think.

But I was wondering if there is anyone else that seems to be experiencing this. It seems odd that it's linear.

Thoughts?

  • I have indentations everyday but they are from my socks or from crossing my legs, etc. My ankles, legs and feet are swollen by the end of everyday.

Not sure if this is what you are referring to but swelling is common in the 3rd tri. If its sudden, accompanied by high blood pressure and other pre-e symptoms then you would want to call your doc or L&D.

  • I have one stretch mark on the inside of each thigh, and they look like indentations. They look darker at some times and lighter at others. Sometimes, in a certain light, I can't see them, but can still feel them if I touch the area. Perhaps you have stretch marks forming?

  • Girl, you can play with the tops of my feet like they're silly putty, and have since 20wk. The doctor isn't worried as long as my BP is low and my pee is clear. Fluid retention is to be expected and it sounds like yours is minimal.

  • Do you get indentations in your skin when you push down into a swollen area...kind of like pizza dough?  If this is what you are referring to, then it IS cause for concern.  My doctor told me to watch for this, it is called "pitting" and is a sign of pre-e.  It may be worth a call to the doctor, just to be on the safe side.  Best wishes!
