Hands in the mouth...

My 3 year old was never one to put things in her mouth, but suddenly now she's ALWAYS got her hands in her mouth.  Not to mention she just began sucking on her clothes and hair but not nearly as often as the hands.  They are CONSTANTLY in her mouth.  I don't know if she's getting a tooth at this age or is this just a bad habit she's getting in to? I ask her if her mouth hurts and she says not but I just don't know what to do to keep her from putting her hands in her mouth.  Any suggestions/ideas?

  • Ds puts his hands in his mouth or nose all the time. He doesn't suck on anything, he just bites his fingernails. It drives me crazy (that and the fact that he says "why?" or "huh?" about 3000 times a day).

  • DS is very oral.  He puts everything in his mouth still. My pedi said that some kids are just like that.  He did stop chewing on his shirt about 6 months ago so that is nice.

Did you steal my DS? We have the exact same issues at our house.
