Parenting after 35

8 month check up!

My teeny tiny has to go in every month for weight checks (he's healthy, way ahead on milestones - it's just a formality).  Today's weight check was 15 pounds 10.5oz - I giggle because there are babies BORN at that weight (ok - not many but there are some!).

He's pulling up and cruising on everything, sometimes even letting go and playing with something (he's usually not supposed to) while just standing there, he's using babble with more intent - Dadadadada is to get Dad's attention, Mamamama is only for me, nananana means "hurry up with that banana mom!!" and he's got a sound when he's talkign to the dogs...all this will become speech soon enough!

He's eating us out of house (loosely following baby led weaning) and home and I think his college fund will be depleted in the form of groceries when he hits puberty...and still breastfeeding just as much!

He's doing awesome! And yes, sadly, some of us have kids the size of a giant watermelon at birth. Embarrassed He's come a long way, so big high five.

  • That's great news!  Glad you had such a good appointment.  I can totally relate to having a boy who eats you out of house and home.  DS actually cries when his food is gone!   Man, can this boy eat!  Lord help us when he's a teenager!
