2nd Trimester

Dizziness

I am 22 weeks and have been soooo dizzy the past couple days.  I haven't had this AT ALL during my whole pregnancy until now.  I've been feeling great, no sickness, no dizziness, no yucky feeling.   WHy am I dizzy all of a sudden?  I cna't figure out if its because I havent been sleeping enough, or because I sit in front of a computer all day at work, or if theres something wrong.  Could there be something wrong or is this normal?

Re: Dizziness

  • I had some dizziness start around that time. My doctor told that this is normal. If you're really worried call your OB! I hope you start feeling better.

  • its either from low sugar  or in my case it is extra blood flow and baby loves to lay on my artery... my son did it alot to they just love to curl up right on top of my artery cutting of some of the blood flow... if i stand 4 to long like shoping baby presses on artery i have to sit or i pass out....

  • Dizziness is normal. It is from all the extra blood we have in our body now. Just make sure you drink a lot of water, and sit if needed while you are dizzy. You cant really do much about it
  • I was getting dizzy in the morning (starting at 12 or 13 weeks). I would end up lightheaded and shaky until the afternoon. This was after no morning sickness or anything. I called my OB and they said I was showing symptoms of hypoglycemia and needed to switch from a whole grain cereal and yogurt in the morning to protein, like egg whites and turkey bacon. I've been feeling TONS better since doing this and figured out I just need to eat as soon as I get up. He also said baby basically steals all your sugar so if you're eating something with sugar there's less for your blood very quickly. He did also mention an increase in blood flow can sometimes cause this. I don't know if this is the problem with you - but call your OB - it might be a simple fix like changing breakfast.
