Newie here.
LO has a red bum and I've heard the biggest culprit is detergent. All my dipes are new, I'm using Rockin' Green, and do 2 rinses. Dipes don't retain any smell. W het should I try for my sensitive little guy?

Re: Detergent help!
Redness can be alot of things. My DD is rash prone, and it's never been a detergent issue.
Are you using diapers with a suedecloth lining? It could be an allergy. How old is your LO are they teething?

How often are you changing him? Do you have multiple kinds of diapers that you use? Wetness causes redness. Try changing every 2 hrs or so and give plenty of diaper free time. Some babies are more sensitive to wetness.
The only way to tell if they are teething is when a tooth comes in. Otherwise, it's all just supposition. :-D
You can try changing your detergent. I'm not sure what to recommend. I would avoid Charlies as it causes rashes in some babies. I use Country Save and I'm not sure I'm thrilled with it.
Where exactly is the redness? Is it all over wh]ere the diaper touches, then it is most likely a contact issue, (suedecloth allergy), is it tied to a certain event, poops, etc., How often are you changing him... try running another rinse on the diapers at the end of your wash cycle, if it is caused by any lingering detergent, this would solve that problem (switch detergents if that is the case, or relook at your washing routine). How bad and large of an area is the rash? is it just a light pink? Have you had your doctor look at it? Some babies just have rashes. Are you changing every 2 hours?
Sorry for the run on sentence, the more info you give us the more help we can give you. [:D
If it's wetness irritation, you may want to use a preventative cream. We use the grovia magic stick overnight to prevent redness. Your LO just may be more sensitive and need something during the day too. Try to give your LO some naked bum time too.
