Dillon started speaking in sentences about a month ago. Not sure what the norm is. I stopped looking at milestones awhile ago because they drive me nuts.
A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

I'm sure it varies widely, and it depends on your definition of a "sentence" - DD usually has the main parts to the sentence, but articles and word order (and sometimes verbs, especially "is") are lacking and she mixes up "me" and "you" ("Daddy help you!" = Daddy help me). "She so nice!" "Avi push Connor!" can mean that Avi pushed Connor or that Connor pushed Avi. Yesterday she managed "Don't tickle my back, Mommy!" and that was her first correct sentence. When she was closer to her second birthday, she was more in the 2-3 word combination stage.
Our daughters were speaking in sentences by about two. However, my nephew doesn't and he's about two now. He hardly uses two word combinations. I think there is such a wide variance. For example, the neighbors daughter who is 6 months older than my daughters is riding around on a bike whereas my girls still don't have the trike down yet.
I also have to add that Dillon does not say sentences all the time. It comes and goes. And It kind of came out of nowhere. "Mommy milk" one day turned into "mommy get milk please".

I don't remember when it started, but man they are doing great at 2 and half. I am amazed by them everyday!
I think it was a month or so after 2.

There is such a huge range between kids and also the difference a year makes is crazy. Katie was am early talker and was definitely starting with small sentences at 2. Now that she is almost 3 she could tell you an entire story. I noticed that in her daycare class there was a huge spread at 2 some kids only saying 1 or 2 words and some kids like Katie. Now a year later they are all speaking in sentences.
It seems like it can still really vary at that age. Elizabeth was slow to talk so last summer as a new 2yo, she was saying things like "where going?" and "help me" or "I sit here." Mostly 2-3 words at a time.
But by fall when she was closer to 2.5, she just exploded and now she just never stops talking. It blows my mind how much her language changed in just 6 months!
After 20 months, 3 Clomid cycles and 4 IUI cycles, IVF #1 with ICSI = BFP!
my boys are turning 3 in June. Gray is JUST starting to say 3-5 word sentences... he has a speech dely and has been in thearpy since about 20mo.
Gibby talks in full paragraphs... he doesn't stop. But right at 2 he wasn't saying a ton. He exploded a few months later and never stopped - much like Griffin did.
There is a huge range of normal at that age.
I used to be Goldie_locks_5 but the new nest is so screwed up that I was forced to start over.
G has started speaking in sentences the past couple of weeks. Not everything is a complete sentence, but she will say things like, "Daddy, you coming?" "Mommy, where are you?" Sometimes I think she is saying a complete sentence but we don't necessarily understand all the words.

This is a video of my boys last Easter so they would have been about 2y 3m.

This one would be right at 2. You can totally see the difference. We had a major word explosion between 2 and 2.5
