How to find a night nurse or night nanny?

My DH is a medical resident and will be starting overnight shifts again.  These shiftsend up being 28-30 hours and then he needs to sleep.  So basically doing two days an the night in between myself.  Then there wil be 2 seperate weeks in may that he does only overnights and sleeps during the day.  In any case I am really worried about getting through these things in the next few months!  Not only that but they need to start sleep training at the end of May or so....

Anyways considering hiring a night nurse to help me at least some of those nights.  Where can I go about finding one?

    My recommendations would be to

    1.  Check with a local parents of multiples group in your area.

    2.  Does your DH's hospital have a NICU?  If so, you could ask there if they either have nurses that do it or have any recommendations.

    Good luck!

  • I would contact a nanny agency in your area...they usually have people on their list that do overnight work. Also post partum doulas in your area may help as well look for those in your area at cappa.net. Good luck!

  • go to bigtent.com it's a website forum for moms of multiples groups in almost ever area. I signed up on that and asked mom's from my area by posting a board like this one on there and I got a wonderful reference of a night nanny and we LOVE her!

    Good luck!
