cosleeping/bedsharing question

Hello Ladies,

I figured that you ladies would be the perfect place to ask my questions.  We have recently started cosleeping with our 15 month old DS.  He used to STTN but stop about 2 weeks ago.  I have no problems bedsharing with DS it makes it easier for all of us to get some sleep.  Here is the question, DS is due July 30 and we had planned to have her sleep in a cosleeper next to the bed.  We figured this would be the best solution since DS and DD will share a room and we didnt want DD to wake up DS.  But now that DS is sleeping with us it seems to raise the same questions.  So, has anyone had this situation?  What did you do?  Do we need to have DS transition back to his bed all night?  IF so any ideas on how?  TIA

Re: cosleeping/bedsharing question

  • I'm not there yet, so take my advice for what's its worth, but we plan on having DS sleep between us (19m when baby comes). (He's been well-able to "defend" himself between us at night since 12m which is a location not appropriate for young babies to sleep). NB will sleep in the sidecar crib next to me. I'm a big fan of not treating something as a problem until it is a problem, so if that doesn't work for any member of the family, we'll deal with it then when we already won't be getting much sleep. Until then, I'm going to make sleep as easy on my PG self as I can.
