This will be DD#2 for us and we've had the hardest time settling on a name that we both like. I kept suggesting names to DH and he didn't seem to like anything. Finally, he agreed on Lilah (from my top 5) and although it wasn't a name I was absolutely in love with at the time it grew on me and we've been referring to this LO as "Lilah" ever since (he would not listen to any other suggestions after that and said he loved this name). However, we're keeping the name a secret from family (due to too many unwanted opinions when we chose DD#1's name).
So last week he was visiting his parents and they of course tried to "guess" the name and kept offering other suggestions and his mom suggested "Gloria". So just yesterday he says that he now wants to name DD#2 "Gloria". Ahhh.. really? Now that I decided I like our name choice he wants to change it? .. Anyways, what do you guys think? (about the name) Gloria???
Re: Now that we found a name DH wants to change it...

That's exactly what I told him!
This. Preferably spelled Lila.
Lila is very pretty.
Gloria is a pretty name, but it reminds of old ladies living in Brooklyn and Queens.
Gloria makes me think of the Van Morrison song (and the Doors' cover of it). It's a great song but "why don't you wrap your lips around my ***" isn't a lyric I'd want associated with my daughter.
It's an older song that her contemporaries wouldn't know about, but if I met a little girl named Gloria, that would be the very first thing I thought of.
I prefer Lila over Gloria.
Lilah. Gloria just dosent appeal to me at all.
And since I dont have a great relationship with my MIL, I always assume that everyone else is the same way.... and I cant imagine letting my MIL name my baby. You may not be as petty as I am, though ;-)
I'm biased as I HAVE a Lilah
Technically, Lilah is DD's nickname- she is Delilah.
I don't think you should let him force you into the name. If he doesn't love it, I'd suggest to keep looking.
That's funny you say that because him and I both love the name Delilah. That was our top pick. The only reason we are not going with it is because of the Biblical association with it =( (we don't mind but I'm positive it will be brought up by family/friends to the point where it would bug us a bit..). We've started looking through names again but are slowly running out of time... ahh.
