Positive for whooping cough

My DH and I live with his sister and fiance along with their 6 wk old son. He was just hospitalized for whooping cough and got antibiotics along with his parents. She called me and said that my DH and I are required to be treated also and that someone from the health department will be checking up on us to see if we were. Is it a vaccine or an antibiotic that I will need? I'm 20wks so I'm not very comfortable with getting medication right now. I will call my obgyn in the morning, but I'm wondering how serious is this?

    Not to freak you out, but see your OB asap. This can be very serious during pregnancy.

    Agreed. know you can have a flu shot when pregnant, not sure about the whooping couch vaccine.  But check it out!!
