bottle drying rack alternatives?

do any moms use any other method of drying their bottles then using a drying rack? I had one with my first son and it was ugly and kinda crappy...I was wondering if like a plastic basket with holes in it to just toss wet bottles in would be okay? or if this wouldnt dry the "properly" ? any thoughts or other options?

Re: bottle drying rack alternatives?

  • I just use our regular dish drainer rack if I don't put the bottles in the dishwasher.

  • We have a bottle drying rack and also a regular dish drying rack.  Generally I just use the bottle one.  But if I haven't washed bottles all day, I will also use the regular dish rack too.  If you have a dishwasher, you could wash the bottles by hand and then us the drying setting to dry them.  I haven't tried this (we have a dishwasher but I haven't washed bottles in it yet) but would assume it would work too.  My only concern with just tossing the bottles in a plastic basket would be if they would drain and dry completely or if you would end up with water left in them.

  • I use a regular dish rack. I have to put the nipples in the silverware part so our cat can't get at them. He has eaten 3 already :)

Love this one. They also have a larger one called boon lawn. I think the grass is big enough.

  • After I wash them I put the bottles in a plastic collander like you drain pasta in. I give it a good shake to get rid of excess water and let them dry. I use filtered water for his bottles but don't see a problem if a bit of tap water is still inside.

  • I thought I was the only one with a total weirdo cat! I found a stash of 3 chewed up nipples. The cat has about 10000 toys and chooses the nipples instead.
  • We just use a wire cooling rack.

  • Boon Grass drying rack!  It works great and holds tons of bottles, nipples, pacifiers, pump parts and the air drying works in the sterilization.
