I'm one of the few who doesn't love this name, but it's starting to grow on me. I like the nicknames Penny or Nell (or Nellie/Nella). I agree that a one syllable middle name such as Jane, Jean, etc. would work.

This is DH's fav.  We are considering MNs Kate/Cate, Jane/June, Maeve, May/Mae...  I agree that a 1 syllable MN sounds best.

I love, love, love this name, but DH vetoed it.  I also love the fact that Penelope, Odysseus' wife, was know for being cunning and loyal
