Approximately how many total calories do you eat per day? And how do you calculate the right amount.
Originally, I was thinking that it should be pre-pregnancy weight x12 and then add 300-400 calories for 2nd tri...but I have no idea.
How much are you all eating and what was yoru pre pregnancy weight?
Re: Calorie intake?
Well, everyone is different of course, but for the average woman a 2000 calorie diet will keep you at your status weight before pregnancy. So around 2300 calories while pregnant and 2500 while nursing should be about right.
But, eat when you're hungry and maintain light exercise, you should be fine.
Everyone has been telling me not to fret over weight gain but I really really can't help it! I've been overweight my whole life and gained 30lbs right before becoming pregnant due to continuous misdosage of synthroid, a thyroid medicine. I'm 20 weeks and have gained six pounds throughout the pregnancy, putting me at a whopping 220lbs
That is a very frightening weight for me!
Anyway, monitor your calories in and your calories out, if you take a 30 minute walk, don't forget to eat an apple or a piece of cheese
Eat healthy food. Eat when you're hungry, stop when you're full. Don't worry about counting calories; your body knows what it needs to do, listen to it!
