elevated liver function test?

went to get tested for cholestastis (or however you spell it)....my bile salt test came out fine, so he said i dont have it..but my liver function test came out elevated...now he wants to rule out hepatitis...im so worried...anyone have something similar?

just to note, the reason he tested it to begin with is because i was really itchy on my hands on feet...now im itchy everywhere (not all day though)....and also have red blotchy spots on my palms...

wont be going in till monday to get more tests done...i really hope its nothing...

I went for both liver function and bile acids on Thursday because of a rash that I've had. It's very itchy and its been everywhere- some has cleared up, some hasn't. Good Luck! I will post if I find out anything that might be helpful

Yes. I also have elevated LFTs. But I also had low platelet counts too. I spent 4 days in the hospital and thy diagnosed it as a virus. But they were very unclear about it all. Since discharge my platelets are improving but my LFTs are the same. I've also developed a crazy itch on my hands and feet that gets worse at night. I'm being seen weekly so on Tuesday I'm going to ask for the bile salts test. Some people ive tales to about t said that their first test was negative but a repeat showed changes. Maybe you should have a repeat. I had every other test in the book from hepatitis tests to mono and Epstein Barr. Let me know how it goes.
