Compression Socks - recommendations?

I have always had slender legs and small ankles....until this week! I finally fell victim to one of pregnancy's most common side effects. SWELLING. =(

I went out and purchased some compression socks at Bed Bath & Beyond today & have been wearing them all afternoon.....the slight pain in my feet has at least subsided. However, I'm wondering what brands you've tried & worked best for you? Would love to hear your advice!

Re: Compression Socks - recommendations?

  • I had this bad with my first and actually got a prescription from my dr for Jobst stockings. They are kind of spendy but really work. I'm using them again this time around. HTH!

  • go to a medical supply store...they have better ones with more pressure so they are more effective. Of note, they are more expensive, but in my opinion, worth it. It also depends on how long you are on your feet for. Im on my feet for 12 hours at work, so I needed the extra support. Also, if you are concerned about possible varicose veins, especially behind the knees, get the thigh highs, not just the knee highs.

  • Im using Jobst too.  My veins are SO BAD.  I didnt have this with the 1st PG.  My dr prescribed TED stockings but I couldnt find anywhere that stocked them.  I picked up a pair of Jobst... they are OK. I dont know if its supposed to make the veins 100% better, but it helps.
