i have a beco butterfly 2 and am just getting used to it. DS is 1 month old. i feel that when i am wearing him if i try to sit or bend over/squat to pick something up, he is getting squished. so i have only been doing standing type activities which really limits its use. what do you ladies do?
I have the Ergo, MT and wraps and I find I can move fine. If I have to bend over though I don;t bend at the waist, I have to bend at the knees (which is really the better way anyways).
This is what it says in the instructions that came with my Moby. Squatting is good for you, anyhow.

I have the Beco Butterfly 2 also ( looove it). I tend to use that more for going out to the grocery store or going out for walks. If I am around the house I still prefer to moby because I feel more comfortable sitting with him in the Moby. The Beco is a bit more bulky and makes it hard to go on the computer or something. I also don't like that I think the waist belt pushes up too far when I sit down- which kind of pushes Charlie's legs up. Do you have a Moby or another less structured carrier to use around the house?
We only use wraps and I have never had a problem bending. I do have to support her with one hand when doing so.

Depends on what carrier I'm using. I didn't get to carry DD that much when she was that young (she didn't like it), but with her on my back, I'm not much restricted at all. I can bend (even at the waist) with her at my front, but not terribly far. I think it changes as they grow and you use different ways of carrying.

This. I use Mobys and the only thing I do differently when I sit is hike DS up a little higher up so his knees/feet have more room.
