coughing...

My DS has a cough that started early last night. He seems like he feels okay, and no fever, but still a bit concerned (he hasn't been sick yet but after going to gym nursery and gymboree for two months I  knew it was bound to happen). It's a wet sounding cough and its a couple in a row, here and there. I'll probably call the pedi later anyway, but curious if any of your LO's have had a cough and what they did for it. I read AAP and FDA rec no OTC under 3 years so I rather fight this organically if possible first. TIA

Re: coughing...

  • My LO had this for a bit too off and all on winter.

She was never really worrisome sick just a cough here and there for a few days.

Other than turning her humidifer up a bit..I didn't really do anything.

She wasn't more than typical baby cold sick and was acting fine, so I didn't feel the need.

I asked the pedi on a well visit and all he said was, "Let her work it out."

  • I just called the ped office this morning b/c of LO's cough.  He's got a cold which I wouldn't worry about but has a very productive cough for the last 2 days and my husband(SAHD) said he thought he was wheezing yesterday.  The ped office said that if I had just said cold and productive cough they'd do nothing but since I thought he might be wheezing that they needed to see him.  HTH!
