Well my sweet 30 weeker is now 20 days old. Can't believe he will be 33 weeks gestation/3 weeks old tomorrow.
Well today, our son was moved from the NICU to the PCN (progressive care nursery).
We are so excited about this move. We are one step closer to getting out.
His weight on March 14th (last night) was 3 lbs 10.7 oz....he should be to 4 lbs by next week. He is now on 32cc every 3 hours and tolerating that very well.
He has a speech therapist consult Monday morning at 9am for bottle trials. I hope that he learns to suck/swallow/breathe at the same time fast.
Anyone else have the speech trial? How long did it take for your baby to learn this?
As of right now, no word when we will be discharged but for now we are one step closer to breaking out of baby jail.
Will keep everyone posted!

Yay! Glad to hear the progress. Miles first started bottle feeds at 34 weeks and caught on pretty quick. It took about 2-3 weeks for him to lose the NG tube and take full feedings. Owen was a little slower going, but once he got it all was good and he came home with his brother.

DS started taking the bottle at 32 weeks, He didn't see the OT until he went to the NICU 2. He was able to control to suck/swallow/breathe from the start. The first time he took a bottle, his nurse didn't think he would be able to handle it. She put 10 mL in a bottle and he took it all with no problem. He had the NG tube in until about a week before he came home. Every time he took a full feed they upped his feeds. He was ab-lib feeding @ about 36 weeks and we went home a week after that.
