I had posted awhile back about being a little concerned about having a homebirth when CNM's in my state aren't allowed to carry any emergency drugs, like pitocin. I don't anticipate any problems but I did receive some pitocin for heavy bleeding after my last homebirth, in another state. We decided we wanted to go ahead with a homebirth anyway since we're just two miles from the hospital and really trust our midwife. I just spoke with my family practice doctor and she is going to prescribe me cytotec to have on hand in the event that I start to hemmorhage. Hopefully I shouldn't need it but it's nice to have at least something on hand.
