I am against driving out during lunch and using gas just to go get something to eat from a fast food joint. I know how much I am saving money by bringing my own sack lunch but are there any girls that bring sack lunches to work?
I typically bring my lunch four days a week and eat out one day. It's sort of a mix in my office. Some people eat out every day and others rarely do. We have a toooon of stuff in walking distance from my office so it makes it easy to grab a quick lunch.
I usually bring left overs for lunch. I work for a small company so everyone knows who's food is who's, so sometimes I'll bring in a bunch of sandwich stuff and eat it over a few days. The bad thing about where I work is TONS of places deliver, and I find myself wasting money sometimes when co workers want to order in

I think it depends on people's job type/incomes/location. When I was a "corporate headhunter," nearly everyone went out to lunch. This was in a city, and there were places to go eat. Now that I'm a higher ed grading machine, I eat at my desk while grading papers and students come in and ask me questions because my door's wide open unless I'm pumping. The college has a cafeteria, but it serves fried crap mostly, so I only eat here if there are student fundraisers I'm supporting.
I wonder if going out to eat is a "guy" thing. At my former corporate headhunter job, all of the men went out to eat, and here all of the women eat at their desks, and the guys are a toss-up.
(ETA: We had free nachos today for student appreciation day, so I got a healthy lunch
I usually eat a combination of leftovers or frozen meals. Usually I will go pick something up once a week. I work right down the street from all the major fast food joints so I don't use that much gas.

I pretty much always bring my lunch. The only time that I don't is if I didn't get the grocery shopping done for the week. I also pack snacks in my pump so I can eat on my pump breaks.
I bring my lunch about 1/2 the time. We have a great cafeteria in our building so it's easy to be lazy and not pack it. But I usually overeat when I buy much lunch, so it's much better for my waistline and wallet to brown bag.
Actually I eat breakfast and lunch at work. I'm completely sad. I don't like the cafeteria and think it is way too expensive so eat what I bring from home.
I bring a loaf of bread, package of sliced Swiss cheese, package of deli sliced chicken, whole peppers (yellow, orange and red), a package of carrots and greek yogurt every Monday that lasts me trough Friday and store it all in our fridge at work. This way I can't use the excuse, oh I forgot my lunch. It has seriously saved me a lot of money because for a while I was forgetting my lunch 3-4 days a week. $6 lunches add up quick!!
Yup. Pretty much every day unless I have plans with someone to go out to lunch.
This is a struggle with DH. I would always have to pack his lunch or he wouldn't bring anything and then go out to eat. It is very annoying. Especially when I would make his lunch and he wouldn't bring it, or bring it back home and toss it b/c "he didn't feel like eating that today" grrr
I know when I was in public accounting, we would go out like everyday to socialize, or take out clients. And since DH was also in public accounting and works/worked with a lot of people who were once in public too, I think the mind set just carried over. So like a PP said, I think it all depends on type of work you're in.
I allow myself $20 a month to eat out for lunch. This means I usually can go out for lunch once a week. It's hard because I work in downtown Chicago and there's tons of good places to eat, but I think about how much money I'm saving and calories too and that helps.

Every day, both DH and I. We save a ton of money on gas and fast food. Plus we eat much healthier. We plan our dinner meals in advance and make extra so we have lunches for the next day. I actually like eating at work. We only get 30 minutes at my office and if I ran out the entire time would be spent driving and waiting in line. At work I get some relaxation time.
I bring my lunch to work most of the time and it's either left overs from meals at home or a frozen meal. My office building is super close, like 2 minutes from a lot of eateries ... so atleast once a week I will grab a bite to eat from a local joint while running errands during my lunch. I hit the bank, the post office, the dry cleaners, the grocery store and sometimes get my hair cut or a pedicure during my lunch.

I really only go out for lunch when it's on my company's dime...Plus I still pump at work, so I use part of my lunch break for that. I love my lunch box

I only have 30 min for lunch so it's REALLY tight to go away for lunch. I usually bring leftovers from the night before. Very few of my co-workers don't bring a lunch.

I'm about 50/50. We have lots to choose from in walking distance. Including healthy stuff (although I don't always make the best choices).
Lots of people at my workplace bring lunches. Not rare where I am at al.

I have alot of food choices within walking distance but I normally bring my food
I do it to save money, but also because I'd overeat if I was buying food (because the portions are big and I would finish it)
