Anyone use an Angelcare monitor?

We bought the video Angelcare monitor for our son, who is scheduled to come home tomorrow!!

He was born on February 7th at 32 weeks at 2 lbs. 9 oz., and is now up to 4 lbs. 4 oz. :-)  We were planning on putting him in his pack n play in our bedroom instead of his crib for now.  Has anyone used an Angelcare before?  Did you find it to be helpful?  And if so, did you ever use it in a pack n play?

TIA!

  • We still use out angel care -- when she sleeps in her crib ;) love it!

I don't have any tips about a pnp though. I think I've heard about putting a plywood board underneath. There may be instructions. If not, have you heard of a snuza? It is a monitor that clips to their diaper and can go anywhere.

We use a snuza too. It's the Snuza Go! which is cheaper than the Halo.  We love it.  I lost a lot of sleep in the week between coming off the apnea monitor and buying the snuza.  I tell H that I am going to make him wear it until kindergarten!

  • We didn't buy the video monitor, but we have 2 Angelcares.  I really like them.

I used one in the PnP when each of the boys first came home.  I didn't have to put plywood under the mat, but I know some people do.

Congrats on getting little one home Smile

  • I used the Angelcare in the PnP when LO came home (31 weeker). I had heard that you need to use plywood underneath, but I figured I'd give it a shot without and see how it works and it worked fine. I put it on a thin hard book and used it directly under the PnP mattress in the bassinet. Never had a false alarm, and tested it a few times to make sure it was working.
