in 1st Trimester
Called my family doctor today, to make an appointment (first time pregnant) and was told that she doesn't take prenatal appointments, i'd have to go in there at anytime without an appointment, pee in a cup, and then they will refer me elsewhere. So i'm going tomorrow.. hopefully I dont have to wait another day to get the referallll.

    You shouldn't need a referral to make a new patient appt with your local ob/gyn. With both of my pregnancies I just called up my ob and made an appt.

    I've never heard of someone getting a referral to an OB.  You can go to your insurance website and look for a list of OB/GYN offices that accept your insurance and then call them to set up an appointment.  Good luck!
