Nancy Drew

Hey Lauri,

Yeah the 11 Nov thing surprised me. I am trying to get the day off from work as we have been DEAD here. Seriously it is so slow today. But with the training stuff on that week I don't know if they will let me have it off. Kev said he could do it for the day but I know with the duplex it messes up what he needs to get done.  And Jan it is a Friday then the full week then Monday that they are closed. I wanted us to take a vacation to Maui I found flights for 388 per person. But with me being so slow at work it worries me about lay offs and I don't think we should really spend the money on vacation right at this time. So I think we will ask MIL to watch him in Jan or maybe I can ask one of our neighbors who is a SAHM. There are 2 that stay home. I don't know them that well so that is not my first choice. I really wanted to go to Maui but with the new house and all it is not really good timing.

I have to get the contract out and request the days off for 2009 that they are closed.

Re: Nancy Drew

  • We would pay my MIL if she came over, not as much as we pay daycare but a an amount to make it worth her 45 minute drive.  I'm not sure yet, if I'll take vacation that week yet.  There is a fancy food show in SFO I'd like to attend.  I might have to attend it, it has not been metioned yet, but it's during those dates.  :(  Then MIL would def be coming over.  If she does come over, and I'm not OOT, I'd be home (most likely) working in my office, so I'd try to have her come over probably 3 of the 5 days from like 10-4 if not the entire week.  (We'd ask her if she just wanted to stay the night here too so not to commute)

I could always ask her if she would want to watch Robbie too for extra $$!  I'm chuckling at thinking of her playing all day with an 18 month old and a 8 month old!  lol

  • oh yeah, there are 3 other days they take off in addition to a holiday.  I remember 1 was in June and I thought 1 was in Nov, but I can't remember!  I'll have to look at the list that is right next to the sign in sheet.

Then there is the Turkey day and the day after.  The usual Christmas and new years, and the next "funny" one is Presidents day I think.

  • me AGAIN......

I just called our travel company for the 2nd time today..... Trying to get an earlier flight on Monday.  It's almost $150 more to change it to the AM vs my current 12:30 flight!  Yikes that seems pricey!  I want to get in earlier now... SOOO much to do, but I don't want to say OK for that big of a price difference!  yikes!!!!!

  • You could always do "same day confirmed" or stand by for the earlier flight.

What airline are you on?AS?  If so when you do online checkin it offers to do same day confirmed for about $50 or so. It can only be done for the same day your ticket is issued for. I can look at the earlier flight to see how full it is.

I am so bored here at work today I would love to have something to do.

I got 11 Nov off finally. I had to have my team lead pull strings for me. I am going to look at the days they are closed for 2009 and request them now.

  • I'm on SW to Oak at 12:30.

I was looking at the 8:30.  Even 6am would work (YUCK!)  or if there is a 10sih????

I didn't want to go on standby at 8:30, then have to wait until 12:30 if not.

SO when I usually check in 24 hours prior (To get a good boarding number), I would only able to do it on Monday for same day confirmed?

  • Dang SW does not do the same day confirmed like AS does. I was hoping you were on AS.  I hear ya on not wanting to not get on 830am then having to wait till 1230 that would suck. Hmm those are all my tricks. SW does not have a low cost way to change. They don't charge the penalty but they do charge the fare difference. And we can't see the flight load like we can with other airlines. So  I am really no help with SW.
