Poll: What did you use to hold your candy when you trick-or-treated?

We always used our pillow cases.  The little pumpkin basket things are cute, but they don't hold as much candy!

  • The pumpkin basket and when I got older mom upgraded to to Halloween bags.
  • I had an orange pumpkin for the neighborhood, and then when we went to the richer area, I busted out the pillowcase!
  • I always had the little pumpkin basket. I am jealous that they now make them in pink. We only had orange when i was a kid.

LOL!  We loved the rich neighborhoods - full size candy bars!  Woot!

  • both?  we carried the bucket but mom had the pillow case and when we got full we would dump.

Did anyone elses mom sort thru the candy first "to make sure it was safe" ie: take the stuff she wanted?

  • We had these Halloween bags.  They were pretty big and held a lot of candy. My Mom still has them actually.

    ditto the pillowcase.

out of curiousity, did anyone else have to collect donations for unicef at the same time? It was a school fundraiser. we had this little box thing on a string that went around our neck. always crimped the style of our costumes.

We did Unicef too, except we weren't smart enough to hang it around our necks.  We'd hold onto it by the little handle.  It was kind of hard to carry around with our sleeping bags... ::smacks forhead::

  • LOL!  And by sleeping bags - I of course meant pillow cases...Sleeping bags sure would've held a lot of candy...but they'd be a bit cumbersome...  :P

  • Either a pumpkin bucket or the Halloween grocery bags (we were high rent!)  I've never seen anyone use a pillow case, but maybe I'm just getting senile.
