We are planning on having hamburgers and hot dogs at LO's party, so we are having it at 12pm. If you saw an invite for 12pm, would you assume there will be lunch provided, or should I specify in some way that there will be food?
When an event is specifically scheduled over lunch or dinner time, I would be more surprised if I showed up to no food whatsoever. I think you're good.

Thanks for posting this; I just filled out the invites for DS's birthday party (1-3pm) and I think I do need to specify that there will be food provided!
From what i've seen on here, people assume food will be served regardless. Party = food. I am hosting a 1:00- 3:00 party with pizza and cold apps (and cake) and didn't specify on the invitation. If people want to eat lunch first, no biggie. It's not like a sit-down 7 courses or anything, KWIM? People will pick at the apps regardless.
