Red Bleeding :-/

Ugh I had another episode with bright red bleeding today (happened at 3 weeks, 5 days as well). It was a decent amount of blood, but it quickly stopped, turned into pink spotting and then stopped entirely.

I called my RE and they're not too concerned. They said there are so many causes of bright red bleeding, and to call them and go to the ER if I'm bleeding through a pad / hour within 3 hours.

They still only want me to come in next Wednesday for my ultrasound because they said it's a little too early to see anything right now.

So for now I'm just taking it easy, but still it's so scary to be in this position!

So sorry hon, I know that's scary. Hopefully it's nothing and your u/s on Wednesday will show it's all good. Take it easy, kick your feet up and drink lots of water. GL at your u/s.

Could be a SCH or just random spotting, but it's true that as long as it tapers off within a few hours and there's no clotting or major cramping, everything is likely fine. I know how disturbing it is though. I had two big bleeds between weeks 6 and 9 and then spotted almost constantly in between. It was a subchorionic hematoma and it resolved itself by week 9. ((hugs))

At 5 weeks, I woke up (Christmas Eve morning) and was gushing bright red blood. I thought I had m/c for sure. I showered, and was still bleeding so I called my doc. My doc said they couldn't see anything on an u/s yet, and I had to wait it out. (except if the bleeding started heavily again, then to go to the ER) Long story short, I ended up being fine. The blood stopped within a few hours, and all has been well ever since.

I know it's scary and it sucks but try and relax. I bled a ton throughout the entire first tri and it was fine. My RE said that 40% of pregnancies bleed and they don't know why. Do put your feet up and drink water and try not to stress. HUGS

Hi Run, I am sorry you are still dealing with this too. :-/ As you already know, I had that too (the bright red light AF flow). And my spotting returned too yesterday (it's my 5th episode since my BFP). Called my RN yesterday and she is not concerned at all (she wasn't even worried with the bright red light AF flow which surprised me). She told me spotting & bleeding is extremely common among IVF & FET patients. She also mentioned to me that it could be a sac of blood (is that a SCH??) but that we won't know until my first u/s on TR. I would really like to know what this is b/c it has been driving me crazy lately! I'll let you know on TR what it turns out to be after my u/s.

BTW, she told me to take it easy so that my body could reabsorb the blood but if I was active I might see more blood. She also recommended I drink lots of water. Hope that helps!

Hopefully it will turn out to be ok. The first few weeks are so stressful waiting for u/s and just not knowing what's happening. Hang in there!

I'm so sorry that is so scary. I had gushing blood at 7 weeks 2 days and spotting at 6 weeks and an sch and spotting at 14 weeks. Drink plenty of water and keep your feet up. I will be thinking of you and your little one.

Here's my experience that might make you feel better. At 6ish weeks, I woke up covered in blood. Crime scene amounts of blood. It was a pocket of fluid that caused me to bright red spot for the next 4 weeks. I'm now 16 weeks and everything is okay. I pray that is the same for you!

Thank you all for replying and for your well wishes! The bleeding stopped completely for a few hours, and I just now noticed a bit of pink spotting, so hopefully that stops soon too.

KelNYC & Brendarph: I've been researching SCH and my nurse said it could very well be that (and that would be fine with me). I just want a diagnosis soon!

Kosmos: Thanks so much for sharing! That must've been a horrific thing to wake up to on Christmas Eve! It sounds similar to what I'm going through and I hope it's nothing.

Lunatwo: I'll definitely drink water and keep my legs elevated. Thanks for the advice!

Marieinmonaco: We're always on the same page, aren't we? Smile I've been pretty active lately and I notice this after I take long walks, so I'm going to cut back on that until my u/s on Tuesday. Good luck at your ultrasound and let me know how it goes!
