Ten Things Tuesday

Re: Ten Things Tuesday

  • 1.  I have a crazy amount of work to do this week.  And next.  This is busy season which is fun but crazy.

    2.  My new boss is all about the lunch meetings.  I could get used to lunch out every week.

    3. I'm super jealous of N2A's travel for work.  I only wish I got to travel to such cool places on the company dime.

    4. The big event I'm working on is sold out.  The invitations haven't even gone out yet.  It's a wonderful problem to have but still a stressful one.

    5. My elderly neighbor is dying.  She's ok but we all know this is the end.  I took Jelly Bean to her house last night for a visit.  Jelly Bean terrorized the place but I think my neighbor enjoyed it.

    6.  Oops, forgot I was in the middle of doing this and actually started working Stick out tongue

    7.  I'm annoyed with my coworkers.

    8.  The east coast gtg is gonna be fun!

    9.  Speaking of east coast gtg - did we decide on location?

    10.  My jelly bean turns 2 in a month.  :-(

  • 1. I am baby crazy. In the past week, I've tried to convince C to get another dog, whined about not having a baby yet, complained that our house is too big for just the two of us and obsessed about when we can start ttc again.

    2. I'm trying to remind myself that there are other things to focus on right now and then do something related to those things (C's career transition, our travel plans) to keep my mind busy.

    3. No one except C and you all know about this.

    4. Today I really need to make some progress on taxes, revising my resume and cover letter for a job app, and some house projects...but all I want to do is relax and read novels. The challenge of time management when I'm my own boss.

    5. I wish I could come to the East coast GTG! Jealous.

    6. I'm trying to see if I can swing an overnight in the San Francisco to visit my best friend who will be there for his birthday.

    7. What I'm looking forward to this month: Hunger Games coming out (I may be seeing it twice opening weekend, once with C and once with my book club).

    8. What I'm looking forward to this year: Cancun (10 days, 9 nights, C and I celebrating our anniversary and attending/speaking at a huge conference).

    9. I'm teaching this week (Wednesday night, newborn care) for the first time this year. I'll be good to get back, but it's a new location and I haven't taught the rest of the series so it's a bit more mental prep.

    10. Novel or taxes?

  • 1. We've given it time, thought it over, and have decided that we will be an adopt only family once Owl and Apple leave.

    2. I went to the grocery store alone yesterday(!!!), I felt so free.

    3.  We registered Iz for kinder and are worried about her adjusting, she isn't fond of rules or doing what she is asked.  Hopefully she has the same teacher A had, she is patient but no nonsense.

    4.  I miss coffee.

    5. But not what it does to my anxiety.

    6.  The IRS hasn't asked for more paperwork for Iz's adoption, maybe our return will be one of the lucky ones that get processed easily.

    7. I'm having boysenberry pie for breakfast.

    8. The mornings this week have been overcast, I'm excited for it to rain.

    9. The girls rock candy isn't growing so I promised them a new batch next week.

    10. It's a potato soup kind of day.

  • 1) Cancun sounds heavenly!

    2) Rosebud goes in for her second surgery tomorrow (tonsils and tubes).  Hope it goes as smoothly as the first.

    3) DW is staying with her at the hospital this time and i'm sad :(

    4) Sprout's behavior is so unpredictable from moment to moment.  His teacher's report of his behavior yesterday ("There were moments when I was blown away by good and respectful he was being...and then others when I couldn't believe how mischievious and off-task he was.") pretty much sums up my life.

    5) Parent-teacher conferences are next week.  I'm thinking this one wont go quite as well as the last...

    6) Love the weather forecast for the upcoming week!

    7) i missed the girl scout cookie sale at work yesterday. boo. but probably for the better.

8 ) The girls are wearing matching cherry-print dresses today.  because sometimes i just cant help myself.

    9) my niece is turning 1 soon and i'm excited about her gifts :)

    10) it would have been nice if i had actually pulled something out for dinner tonight...

  • 1. Just discovered that I like pomegranate greek yogurt. I typically don't like the consistency of greek yogurt, but this was really good. I will add it to my breakfast rotation.

    2. L and I are taking a half day and going to see Spamalot tomorrow. Discount tickets and free childcare (aka school.) YAY!

    3. I HATE getting up when it is dark out. Of course I will be complaining this summer when it is light at 5:30am. Can't win with me. ;)

    4. L has her prospectus meeting (the first 3 chapters of her dissertation) today with her committee. YAY!

5.But BOO because her month long hiatus is over and she will be back in high gear until this thing is done. We've all been so much happier this month with her home on the weekends. May 2013 can't come soon enough (although she'll be done and defend before then, I setting my goals on the latest possible date possible as to not get my hopes up.)

    6. I am comparing pet insurance policies. Our cat's bladder blockage set us back nearly $2000. And they said once they get it, they are likely to get it again. Grump.

    7. I am not in the mood to work. At all. I have don't little to nothing productive today.Good thing I worked 11hrs yesterday.

    8.  It is going to be 77 degrees here today. I really wish I could work from home. Outside on the deck with a laptop and a margarita. Ohhhh...that would be awesome.

    9. Sprout's behavior the my kids' behavior sounds just about the same. Humph for both of us.

    10. We need to make a plan for the GTG. If we do Philly again, I am happy to make some suggestions since I have done a good bit of research when we went last year. But if we go to NJ, someone else has to do the research and planning! :)

  • 1.  I bought a car last week (2012 Hyundai Tuscon) and I love the fact that I dont have to take DW to work at 6 am and then be in class unitl 8pm.

    2.  I have my field placement interview tomorrow at a hospital near my school.  It is in an inpatient psych ward...I am excited and nervous.

    4.  My new car's name is Bruce from Finding Nemo (the paint job reminds me of a sharks coloring and I am obsessed with sharks.

    5.  Number 4 always make me think "Fish are friends, not food!!!"

    6.  I feel like there is something I am supposed to do this weekend and neither DW or I can remember what it is.

    7.  Took my suit to the dry cleaners to get pressed and it wont be ready until 7 am tomorrow. I am using this cleaners for the first time, I really hope they dont mess up because my interview is tomorrow.

    8.  I also have a test tomorrow which adds to my stress a bit but the subject material is enjoyable so I am confident.

    9.  I really need to get off the bump and write my paper.

    10.  My diversity class had a group present on homosexuality last night.  I found myself talking a lot and correcting misconceptions.  They did ok but it was clear they were uncomfortable with the topic (we didnt get to pick).

We had three BFN in the Fall of 2011. It is back on to some baby making come June. Swim little fellas, SWIM!!!!

  • 1) I typed one of these out earlier but the Bump ate it when I tried to post.

    2) I am super tired. Like way beyond tired. I need a day off without a baby or a wife.

    3) Last night I could tell I was unwell, I got snappy with Ky and I am normally not like that at all.

    4) The sitter got to see Ky's famous temper yesterday. Thankfully she left out the biting part.

    5) Today's high is 72, tomorrow is 73 and I am stuck inside all day both days....sigh.

    6) I am putting meatloaf in the crockpot at lunch so maybe a stop by the park is in order on the way home?

    7) I need a trip to IN. I miss my bff. Sadly the next three weekends are out Crying

    8) The person two cubes over is talking about their Chinese buffet lunch....jealous....I have chicken salad.

    9) I found a website that details how to make all of the fun hairbows and clippies I love. I want to be home crafting (I still have not made that Easter wreath either) not here "working".

    10) Even if I were home I am sure I would find something there that needs done instead of crafts *sigh*

  • 1. I am drinking OJ.  It is not the same as diet soda.

    2.  I LOVE going home  from work in the light.  It seriously made me SO happy yesterday.  SO HAPPY.

    3. Not getting my hopes up means calculating when the end of first trimester would be and fantasizing about telling our parents.  Right?

    4. We bought plane tickets for summer vacay in Colorado.

    5. I have a bunch of work phone calls that I am avoiding making.

    6.  My nephews are turning 3 next  week.  How is that even possible?

    7. We're going up there, along with my parents flying in, for their pirate themed party.

    8. We still didn't make a moving decision, other than the decision to not decide.

    9. I think I am going to get to go to a really cool training on teaching how to parent kids with behavioral issues on Friday.

    10.  I'm trying to rachet my hopes back down by making a list of things to ask the RE for next cycle.

TTC with PCOS since July 2011.
    IVF Oct/Nov 2012

  • 1. Its gorgeous today... so of course I'm at work instead of working from home today. Confused

    2. I'm going to go for a walk around the block though, just to get out and enjoy it.

    3. Poor Gwen is home today with Daddy, her temp kept jumping, then going back down, then jumping again. That plus the cough meant a doc visit.

    4. Bronchitis. Ugh. But she got her first z-pack, so hopefully she'll be feeling like a new woman by the end of the day.

    5. Just took a deposit to the bank... so nice out!

    6. I eat way too much. But I just can't seem to stop myself.

    7. I really want to get back in shape. I need to find a gym and start going to a class or something... but for now, at least we're walking more thanks to the warmer weather.

    8. I'm annoyed with about half my coworkers right now. All over one general thing.

    9. Though since there's really only 6 of us, that's not really so many people. Stick out tongue

    10. Okay, back to work since this day is FLYING!

  • 1. E woke up at 1am coughing--she's had a bug for 5 days or so and then she was crying because her ear hurt. Ibuprofen and cough medicine and tucked back in until morning.

    2. Then mommy gets back in bed and could NOT go back to sleep for the longest time. Sleep

    3. So...another day off work and a trip to the pediatrician for us. Bleah. She "might" be getting an ear infection, so here's a script but you decide what to do. Sigh.

    4. I made E promise she'd lay down and take a nap with me...we are headed there shortly. I hope it works, I am wiped.

    5. Enough of the blah news...there is good going on here too!

    6. We got snow this morning!

    7. Assuming everything continues moving forward, the house is going to close on the 26th.

    8. My girl comes home from visiting her family today. We have missed each other like crazy while she's been gone.

    9. I get to see my girl tomorrow night after work.

    10. Is it Wednesday night yet???

  • 1. It is 65 degrees and beautiful today!

    2. The warm weather has motivated me to get some cleaning done around the house.

    3. I was also able to take the dog outside to play with her for a little bit. I think she was in heaven.

    4. We are eagerly awaiting our first insemination. I can't believe how fast time has flown since we picked march to be our first month TTC.

    5. I'm also terrified because of #4.

    6. I have no idea what I'm making for dinner tonight. I should get on that :)

    7. I'm very excited for Saturday!  Obviously it's St. Patrick's day and we've planned a sort of *goodbye* party with a bunch of friends. I know it sounds silly, but it will be the last time we're partaking in adult beverages and bar fun for a while - so we're going out with a bang!

    8.  I really should throw a load of laundry in the wash.

    9. I still have no idea what I'm cooking for dinner.

    10. I hope everyone is having a great Tuesday!

  • 1. I'm not nearly as good at checking in here when I'm not sitting in my office all day.

    2. It doesn't mean I don't love you! :)

    3. Our living room furniture was delivered this morning. Our couch is enormous - too big for the space. I don't care at all, because it's huge and squashy and a pretty navy corduroy and exactly what we wanted.

    4. I'm excited to go to the MFM with Jen tomorrow, I missed her last two appointments b/c she moved before me.

    5. We are hoping the doctor gives the go-ahead for a little 3-day babymoon the first week of April, even though 32 weeks is really late for that.

    6. I bought the book "12 Hours of Sleep a Night By 12 Weeks" (or something like that) for 4 bucks at a consignment store yesterday. I'm really curious about it, but also really skeptical.

    7. I'm surprised we are both getting tax refunds this year, but it's definitely a good time to get them.

    8. I need to finish writing thank you notes.

    9. We don't have any artwork big enough to hang over the fireplace. This will be a fun problem to solve :)

    10. Y'all, they were totally serious about how much it rains here.

  • 1. Today is 4dp5dt and I'm happy to say that at the very least my progesterone seems to be staying up there. I have a laundry list of symptoms, not the least of which are extremely sore breasts, bloat, mood swings, fatigue, etc. I've been around the block long enough to know this means nothing about whether I'm pregnant or not, but I am thankful that at least my progesterone seems to be cooperating this cycle!

    2. We haven't really felt compelled to test at all yet which is somewhat surprising, as every other cycle I've tested by at least 8dpo (or 3dp5dt). I think we're enjoying the time we have to just be hopeful and not start the downward spiral of testing every 12 hours.

    3. I'm super proud of myself today for not chewing out a co-worker for being a self-centered a-hole. I swear he does things just to annoy me, and most of the time I don't let it get to me, but with the above mentioned mood swings I think I deserve a prize for keeping cool :-)

    4. I can't wait for the next two weeks of work to be over. Our group is hosting a workshop in our department that I somehow got pulled into even though I didn't want anything to do with it. Counting down the days...

    5. We're going to my Aunt and Uncle's for St. Patrick's Day. My maternal grandfather was Irish, so this has always been a big holiday in my family. I love the traditional corned beef and cabbage meal too! MH on the other hand calls St. Patrick's Day the "day of starvation" because he very much dislikes the traditional meal.

    6. I'm looking into making something suitable for St. Patrick's that he will like. So far all I've come up with is potato leek soup. Thoughts?

    7. The weather in Upstate NY is fabulous and I want to play hookey from work for the rest of the week!

    8. Our seeds are growing! We are starting our vegetables from seeds this year and we have herbs, tomatoes, broccoli and peppers sprouting!

    9. We're thinking about renting a beach house on the outer banks with MH's brother and his wife next Summer. A whole week on the beach sounds pretty amazing right now.

    10. I really, really, really, really hope this cycle works (is working), Spring makes my already baby crazy self get even a little crazier :-)

IUI #1 (50 mg clomid and ovidrel) - BFN
IUI #2 (100 mg clomid and HCG trigger) - BFN

  • 1. My wife's birthday is tomorrow and we can't really celebrate it at all.  I'm leaving the house by 7:15 am for a b/w and u/s appointment before work, and she is working a closing shift so she won't be home until after 9:30 pm, at which point I'll be almost ready for bed.  We're celebrating it on Saturday -- which works out well because she loves St. Patrick's Day -- and with my family on Sunday, but I feel bad about tomorrow.

    2. I called a landscape supply company today and scheduled a supersoil (50/50 soil/compost) delivery for Friday so that I can get the veggie garden started on Saturday.  Can't wait!  Lettuce, radish, pea and mache seeds are going in the raised beds and I have to start tomatoes and peppers inside as well.  I love vegetable gardening!

    3.  I'm trying to get more exercise.  Between being sick, being crazy in my last 2ww, and being on vacation, I slacked off a bit on gym visits, but I went tonight and I'm glad I did.  I've also started taking walks on my lunch breaks in this lovely weather.  And I need to start doing something other than walking/running but I can't decide what that is.

    4. I stopped temping when this cycle started.  I was a little hesitant to give up what felt like a certain amount of knowledge/information but I'm glad I did -- it was making me kind of obsessive.

    5. This is our 6th "natural" cycle and if it doesn't work, we're making some kind of change -- either medicating or switching donors or both.  I know we have to make some decisions before the end of the cycle, but I'm sort of avoiding it.

    6.  Our cat has been super weird lately.

    7. My best friend got a job offer on Sunday...in Chicago.  I'm happy for her but really sad she's going to be leaving, even though I knew it was inevitable (she's finishing her dissertation, and humanities positions are few and far between).  Neither of us have a big travel budget, which means we won't see much of each other.

    8. I'm out of things

  • 1. I am kind of over my job right now. I am single-handedly planning an event and my heart is just not in it. 4 more months until we move!

    2. Speaking of moving, we are both thrilled to be moving to Boston!

    3. ...But moving cross-country is a lot of work. My sister is helping us check out apartments but I am going to have to fly out there soon and sign a lease for this fall.

    4.  All of this is getting very expensive very fast. Especially the move/leaving my job. The tuition and loans I was prepared form, but these other incidental expenses are killer.

    5. Speaking of expenses, we have to do our taxes this weekend. They are such a hassle and we'll probably owe because of the taxes on S' fellowship. I hate tax time.

    6. I hope Chessie isn't too cold in MA. She is part chihuahua so she shivers when it's 60 degrees and windy here in CA. :(

    7. I am excited to live near my family again and for Chessie to meet her grandpuppyparents.

    8. Clearly all I have on my mind right now is grad school and moving, even though there are like 100 other things I should be thinking about.

    9. At Pride this year we are having a dog show and I need to get Chessie something cute to wear in it!

    10. I am hungry. I hate weeknights when I am tired from work and don't feel like making anything.
