SS is going to be a clone trooper, my 3 year old nephew that lives with me will be a ninja or batman and DS will be a football player. I'll have to post a picture here soon so you guys can see what DS looks like. He is so adorable.
SS is 13 and right about the cut-off. And while I WOULD have been ok if he had gone out with a couple of buddies (supervised of course), he is not going to go round town on his own just to get candy.
On top of that - he tells me that since he has not gotten his growth spurt yet, he won't offend people because he looks 10-11. My response - you cannot have it both ways. You cannot demand that we treat you like a teenager and at the same time get the perks of being a child.
To be honest, I never did Halloween as a kid. My parents did family night on Halloween (though we could dress up for school). It was their way of controling candy intake I guess.
Illumine - you're so right!! last year I was passing out candy and you would be amazed (or not) to see how many 14 year old and up who were asking for candy. Yet they act all big and bad around the neighborhood, but in events like this they play all nice? Everytime I'd get a teen I would say real loud "wow you're a little old for trick or treat aren't you?".....
My DD is dressed in'50s garb. Pink poodle skirt, cardigan, black and white striped shirt...she looks so cute. She is out by herself (well, with a group of 6 friends) this year. It's her first time doing that.
Re: What are your sk's and/or dc's going to be for halloween?
Nada if I can help it.

SS is Dash from "The Incredibles" and my son has the scariest costume ever! He's an Elephant and had McCain/Palin pins attached.
Here's a picture without the pins...
