Those on bedrest with children at home

How do you spend time with your little ones?  I feel so guilty not being able to run around the house and being able to play with my son.  I read to him and he will sit with me for awhile but he's a toddler! It doesn't last long.

Ideas?

We hang out while I'm in bed or laying on the couch. Keep some toys in a bin right next to you. You can have your little one play with you on the bed/couch. We read in bed. Can some one come over during the day to help you out?

It makes it a bit easier that DD is old enough to do some independent play. We do a lot of reading while I have to rest. She's good about bringing toys over to me when she wants to play together. I like pp's suggestion of keeping a small basket of toys near you.

I'm not on bed rest but what about some puzzles to do together?  Or shape sorters?  Could you color with him - probably with crayons instead of markers or pens, though.
