does your child look to you when they point?

if they are pointing out something in a book, while out on a walk, etc?  If so how often do they do this?

 do they ever point to things and not look at you to check if you saw it too?

my lo will point to one thing after another in a book or in the room and I will answer what it is and then he will point to the next object, but will not look at me each time he points to an object.  Is this what your lo does too?

Yes.  I have really realized with the babies that when they do it they are really asking what it is that they are pointing at.   They want to know what it is so, I always give them a sentence and tell them the name of what it is that they are pointing at.  It's such a great age.

DD looks to me when she wants something. If she's just pointing to something in a book and I say "cat", she doesn't look because, I'm guessing, she knows she got my attention.

L will look at me about half the time when he's pointing at something.  If he's just looking at a book he won't, but if we're at the mall and he's pointing to a light or something he might look at me.  If he wants something he will definitely look between me and the object while pointing and going "ah-ah-ah".
