Prenatal classes

Has anyone taken prenatal classes yet or planning on it?

 For those of you taking prenatal classes, when are you planning on taking them.  I know some recommend you take them close to your due date but I was hoping to take them earlier so that I have time to digest all the information and do more reading/classes if I need to..

I'm due in mid-July...so I was thinking of something that starts in April or May.  Most of the classes I looked at run for about 6 weeks or there are some that are covered on just one weekend.

We are taking a a 1 day Prenatal/L&D/ Baby Basics class in early June, I am due August 12.

I am taking a one-day class at the beginning of May and am due June 25. I can't imagine that there will be a whole lot that we have to do, in terms of research and taking other classes after that.

We are due in June but with twins will deliver by May 17th so we just took our first classes this last weekend and the weekend before.  It was a labor and delivery class and most couples there were going to deliver in the next 6 weeks.  If you are not due until July, IMO April would be pretty early.  I don't think you will remember things until July especially with the last part of pregnancy being so crazy and busy anyway.  That's just my two cents, but if they are spread out over 6 weeks I would start them maybe in May?  If they are consolidated you could easily wait until June.  Have fun!

I'm also due on June 25th and my class is May 5th.

My hubby may be working out of town so instead of the 6 week course, we are signed up for the 2, 8hr Saturday courses. They are the first two weekends in May, and I am due August 6th. This was the latest we could get those, the others were after my due date. I think just call and sign up or see what is offered. Never too early to just have your spot sealed away for it:)

Thanks for sharing your thoughts everyone.

My husband has a big exam in early June, so he was hoping to do a weekend class on June 8-19 (I'm due July 17) .  I thought it it might be better to do it early.  But I guess it would be okay to do it then.  It's a good point that it shoudl be fresh in my mind when I go into labour.
