It may be the size of the area they are looking at, but I don't think it is the size of your uterus.
On my 10w3d u/s the cm # is 13.8 on 1, 14.6 on another, 14.1 on still another. On my 14w4d u/s the cm# stays the same on all of them but it is 13.4 (smaller than any of my 10w3d numbers).
Hmmm-so I'm extra confused now b/c I'm pregnant with twins. I just had an u/s done today at 10w3d, and the picture showing both babies just says 12 cm. The doctor said everything looked great, but now I'm confused. Just trying to figure out how big my babies are : )
Its the crown to rump length until @12-15 weeks they start making other measurements. Later ultrasounds they will start measuring the spine, belly and head.
Re: Silly question

It's the amount of area that is shown in the u/s picture...
Unless my LO grew more than a CM during a single u/s it is not the size of the baby, as I had 3 different CM#'s during the same u/s.
I am pretty sure it is the size of the area in the picture.
this...
the number will change if/when they zoom in/out.
has NOTHING to do with the fetus or ute or anything else.
