My girlfriend had her baby at 26 weeks on January 6th. He was born at 2lbs and is now over 5lbs WOOHOO!!
He will be coming soon and we are having a baby shower for her this Sunday since we didnt have a chance to throw her one before.
What would be the perfect gift for her? I know they will have to stay home alot for the next few months until he builds up a better immune system.
Would it be tacky for me to buy them a bunch of sanitizer, wipes, etc...??
Any advice, etc.. would be appreciated.

Re: Perfect gift for preemie mom? help me out!
I would also say giftcards for takeout dinners, or even a gift certificate for something for her. Maybe a certificate for you to watch the baby - and then a cert for a mani pedi at a local place? That way she could go and get it done and do something for herself. A cert for a massage if you go in on it with a few friends would be nice too.
I also think the hand sanitizer and wipes and stuff is an awesome idea. After buying those things over and over for my classroom... I know that the price of them add up!
I think baby essentials are def a good idea and not tacky at all! I missed my baby shower (went into hospital at 30 weeks) and everyone wanted to buy stuff when ds came home. I asked for diapers, wipes, formula, etc... and people actually complained b/c those aren't "fun" gifts. But they were the things I would need and getting stocked up would keep me from having to leave ds with someone else and make a trip to the store.
I also agree with gift certificates for take-out/delivery places and something for mom to get some alone time!
