Flame me if you want....
So, this mom posted about her troubles with WIC on the regular board.....then I also noticed that she was posting on the photography board. She is asking for guidance on the new $950 camera that she jus bought to take pics of LO.
Re: WTF Get a job!
As PP mentioned I'm not sure why you are posting here and you don't know where the money came from. Unless she is hiding income and lying on her paperwork she is entitled to collect her WIC payments and it sucks that she is having issues. I'm not saying that the system as a whole isn't broken, but as long as she goes through the proper channels, and qualifies I don't see why you are so up in arms about it? How do you know that she doesn't work? You can work and still qualify for WIC, food stamps and medicare.

She's not judging her for being on WIC. She's judging her for getting the gov't to pay for her food so she can go buy a shiny new expensive camera.
And for those who think it's okay to be on public assistance and then buy expensive stuff, no, it's not okay. My taxes that I pay with my job are being given to you so that you can spend other money to buy things that I can't even afford. I work at a rental management, and I see people everyday on housing assistance that own better phones than me, own nicer cars than me, have their hair and nails done every month, and then want to know why the $1800 a month home does not take assistance payments. No, b*tch, there's a reason why it's called low income housing. You don't get to live with the rich kids, sorry.
If you have such an issue with it then write to your congressmen and "revamp" the welfare system, it's not her fault that the system is broken. Once you qualify into the system it's easy just to stay in the system (I'm not saying that it's right, but that's the way it is right now) Also, maybe if you lived within your means (maybe a smaller house, or cars, put yourself on a tighter budget?!), you would be able to afford nice things too.
