AF emotions vs Stims emotions

I'm typically pretty emotional during AF.  I'm worried about starting stims and being worse.  My poor husband and step son!  By emotional, I mean moody!  :). BUT, I'm excited to see what our first IVF has to offer even with all the crazy German strictness!  Preparing for the worst and Praying for the best!  That's my motto.  Have a great week ladies!

Re: AF emotions vs Stims emotions

  • Hi!  Good Luck with your upcoming cycle.  I am usually a pretty laid back..take it or leave it kinda person.  During my stims I don't feel like I changed at all.   My RE stated everyone is different but you should remain your usual self. Again Good Luck

  • I'm also pretty emotional during AF...since starting stims I've been weepy but not too moody...I did break out into tears over a donut though, lol.

  • Everyone reacts differently, but I also had a really easy time on stims - my main complaint was physical discomfort. My acupuncturist said that a lot of women feel really good emotionally on stims because your body is flooded with estrogen. Good luck!

  • Thanks ladies!  I hope it's easy peasy!!!  I couldn't help giggling at the "crying over a donut" comment!  That's how I always get when AF comes around!  :). Good luck to you ladies as well.  Thanks for the support!
  • Honestly the biggest emotional change I go through in any given cycle is when I start progesterone. I usually want my own space and I'm somewhat solitary. When I'm hopped up on progesterone though I love to cuddle and be around people (and I'm narcoleptic but he finds that hilarious). DH once joked that if it weren't for the shots- he'd ask if I could have a lifetime supply of progesterone.

Stims though just affect me physically- and even then it's tolerable.

I went into IVF expecting to become some kind of freakish harpy ready to kill and maim innocent bystanders and... meh. Being that angry takes too much effort. It's easier to just go take a nap.

  • When I stimmed in January, I felt like my emotions were very affected (total moodiness).  When I stimmed in February, my emotions were pretty even (other than general IVF-related stress).  Was on the same dose both cycles.  I hope that you aren't too emotionally affected by them -- good luck!

Hahaha, you made me LOL.  This is exactly how I am feeling I will be.  The last stimming I did was for our IUIs in 09.  I choose not to recall the craziness of that time (I was a moody insert choice name here).  You are right, why be angry!  I do remember being uncomfortable but that's mostly it.

Thank you!  I'm feeling emotional and haven't even started yet!  I think it's the stress of it all but it's weird, I don't FEEL stressed.  Subconsciously I suppose.  :)
