Has anyone ever questioned you??

I'm so annoyed right now!! I'm sick of family telling me that my twins are not ID!! Somedays they look exactly alike & somedays they don't. Hell sometimes I even get them mixed up!! When we are out & about, everyone who stops us always comments & asks how we tell them apart.

Last night we went to dinner with my sister & BIL and the whole time they kept telling us that there is no way they are ID. They were talking about their head shapes & then saying this one looks like a baby & he looks more grown up. Then she was like look at their eyes they're not even the same shape. I was so irritated I looked at my DH & started packing our stuff.

Then I have a cousin who constantly tells us this as well. Every. Single. Time. she sees us she has to make that comment!!

 I keep telling them that one day I'm going to prove them all wrong and get a DNA test done. UGH!! So annoyed!!

But.. you don't know if they're ID or frats either.. Are IDs better than frats? I think this may not be a cause for upset. But definitely get a DNA test if this bothers you so much.

Blow them away with science.

Tell them just b/c they have the same genes, doesn't mean they are expressed the same way.

Just get the DNA test done and then you can stop dealing with it.

 I know say things like "we know for a fact they are ID, but they look very different to me."  

 My boys were in separate sacs and had separate placentas, but are still ID.

If it makes you feel better, we get asked if they are ID (look at my siggy, my DD's are clearly not ID) or if they are even twins since they don't look alike. I don't think people think about what they are saying, they just blurt it out.

Are ID twins better than frats?  I don't get it? Sorry. Why do they keep harping on the issue and would it matter if they weren't ID?

I hate to say it, but I don't think it's that obvious from your siggy. (It's hard to compare their faces.) They are adorable though!! 

OP, I would just get the DNA test so you know one way or the other. Mine are very clearly fraternal but if there had been any doubt, I would've sprung for the test right away just b/c I would've been curious to know for sure and wanted to be able to answer that question.

I also don't get why it would upset you so much.... if you have not had a DNA test done - and i'm assuming they weren't in the same sac, etc... then you don't know if they are ID or not - so why get so mad at people??   ID's are not better than fraternals... your boys are what they are - adorable - so why care what people think about ID/fraternal?

Do the DNA test if you care to know...  and FWIW- i think they look very different, too... which I know cuold mean nothing - b/c many ID babies do look different b/c of how they were laying in the uterus, etc....  but either way - why let it bother you?  Twins are facinating and people love to talk about them... be proud of your boys and that people are so interested in them.

Agreed on both counts. Mine are totally fraternal, but I almost wish there was a question. I'd test them in a hot second!

Yeah I don't get why it would bother you either if you don't even know!

We know my girls are ID and we are always talking about whether or not they "really" look alike with my family and friends!

They ARE ID. We've been told since the very beginning. They were in the same sac & shared a placenta. The Dr. even told us that their head shapes will be different because of the way they were in utero & that over the years it may even out.

I never doubted it, nor did I think or say that ID's are better than frat!! It is just the annoying to me that people think they know everything and have to put in their 2 cents. Because we were told all along that they were ID, & look ID with the same features, there was no reason to waste the money on a test. But since they won't STFU I want to prove them wrong!

LOL Thank you!! I told them this word for word last night. I mean don't you think it would be rather strange for twins or triplets to wonder around doing the same exact thing and expressing the same exact emotions?! How ignorant can some people be??

Actually we were told since day 1 they were ID. Did I ever say in my OP that IDs were better than frats? Nope. Thank you!!

I never once said IDs were better than frat. It irritates me because they are ID & they always try to find reasons that they are not. Like they think they should be a walking talking carbon copy of the other 24/7.  It wouldn't bother me at all other than the fact that they do this everytime.

I can see why this would bother you. I think the whole "ID's are better than frats" thing is dumb. That's obviously not what you meant. When I read your OP, I immediately thought that they must've shared a placenta and that' how you know (people that have di/di same sex twins are usually the ones questioning the ID vs. frat issue). I think you're more annoyed because it's like they're questioning your knowledge, like you don't know what you're talking about! I'm sure you've explained it all to them, so let them them say whatever. At least you don't have the problem of people knowing who's who!

My girls are ID di/di too. I don't think they look alike (well okay, they look similar, but not that much), but of course, everyone else thinks I'm crazy. It's so interesting to hear other ID mom's say theirs look different, and then I see their pic (like your boys) and I think "She's crazy. They look exactly alike!"

Weren't you the one that made a post about how you walked out on dinner with your family because they were commenting on how different your ID twins looked?

Ah, got it. Since you said you were going to get a DNA test to prove it, it sounded like you didn't know for sure. That's why people reacted the way they did. I can see why you're a little annoyed if they're not believing what you and the doctors say.

Well all of those who just jump to conclusion about ID's being better than Frat!! If you read my post I never once said that, but whatever to each their own.

And to answer you last assumption, we didn't just walk out of dinner. Dinner was finished and we were just talking. I didn't know I had to write a book on here and spell out every. single. detail!!

serious DUMB people we are two moms with twin girls  - clearly we have MALE INFERTILITY but people ask us if they are NATURAL ...  and we even had some lady tell us that our TWIN GIRLS (they are frat twins with a 5% change of being ID) that one was not a girl .. SERIOUSLY DUMB! SO WE JUST COME AT THEM - WITH  some serious snarky ass responses
