Which game system?

Poor DD is playing the Leapster that we bought for my stepdaughter 7+ years ago.  I figure with a few 4+ hour roadtrips coming up in the next year, maybe it's time for us to get her something new.  She likes playing games and having books read to her on my Kindle Fire but I am reluctant to give it to her in the backseat because she also has a tendency to drop the Leapster once in awhile. Would kind of prefer whichever system ends up being cheapest in the long run.

Re: Which game system?

  • We just got DS the Leapster Explorer. He loves the thing. I found it on Amazon for $50 but games at Target got for $25 each. He says he still wants the Leap Pad though. Unless he gets it as a gift we wont be buying it. I think one system is enough.

  • We just bought the Leapster Explorer.  Toys R Us has the games on sale from time to time.  In fact they are 25% off right now.
