I am going tomorrow to purchase a crib. I have been looking online and in stores and magazines for a long time now. I have three favorites in mind but I would like some input - some of the choices have poor reviews for the dressers. We are going to babies r us.... anyone purchase a furniture set there that you love? I want a crib, Chest dresser, and basic changer.... thoughts???? Looking to spend in the mid-range or below.
Re: Crib suggesstions?
BEFORE you go to BRU and buy anything I would strongly suggest picking up a copy of Baby Bargains to learn which are the top rated quality at various price points.
They do recommend cribs sold in BRU - so if they include one of your picks then you'll be all set! However wouldn't it suck to spend four figures on furniture only to later learn that it won't last as you had envisioned?
We're going with one from Ikea. The side will come off to become a toddler bed, and if we end up wanting an actual toddler bed later on, Ikea has some good options that don't cost a ton just like the cribs.
They seem to get great ratings and the prices are fantastic. We'll probably get the Gulliver for $99 but I'm still tempted to get the one they have for $70.

Haven't bought yet, I am still afraid to take te plunge. Just when I think I want one model, I see another that I think I like better.
We had it narrowed down to the Graco Sarah or the DaVinci Emily crib.
BUT I think (really think this time) we are going with the DaVinci Emily crib, it's gotten great reviews. You can get it at BRU, I think we are getting ours off of amazon. And yes, I too, recommend the Baby Bargains book. I would have been lost without it. I consult it for every purchase now.
