Nesting Stage

I am 28 weeks, with my second child. With my first child i went through the Nesting stage fairly early, getting the nursery ready, clothes and everything to get ready for the baby. But this time around i have not felt the urge to start nesting, I'm not sure if it's because i'm so tired all the time, Is this normal? Has anyone else felt the same way? And i also wanted to ask other moms, when did your nesting instinct kick in?

I'm exhausted, but I have been nesting like crazy. It takes everything in me to just sit down and relax. I have such a hard time shutting my mind off.

Mine finally kicked in at about 35 - 36 weeks - but now at just a week away, I do finally feel ready!

Mine has just now started, but it's only in bursts.

For example, a few days ago I reorganized DD's art supplies and playdoh in the living room, and the next day I went through all my clothes and picked out the ones to give to charity.

When I was pregnant with DD, my nesting instinct was way stronger. I wood polished every surface in the house, and I made sure all the vacuum lines were perfectly parallel.

I started nesting in the nursery starting around 16 weeks or so... but as far as the rest of the house... HA! haven't nested anywhere else lol...

Im pregnant with my second. My daughter is 5 almost 6 so this has been completely different : ) I guess 6 years does alot to your body. With that being said I was young with my first had more energy and nested early. This time around its up and down. Some days I wake up full of energy and feel the urge to get certain things done to make sure we are ready for baby and other days I just want to sleep all day. I don't think theres anything wrong with you not feeling that urge yet. Every pregnancy is different and I am sure you will have everything done in plenty of time.

 

Oh and I am 27 weeks. Hope this helps a little bit.

I'm 33 weeks and the urge to nest has hit me really hard the last 2 weeks.  However I'm also on modified bed rest so I'm not allowed to be up and doing anything....  I feel so conflicted because I lay at home all day and see all these things I want to do and can't.

I thought i was nesting a few weeks ago-but ohh no! This week for sure it really kicked in! I've been cleaning like a mad woman! My dad and I worked on the front planter, my husband and I bought tile to re-tile the kitchen and dining room, we also bought carpet to re-do the whole house which will be done next tuesday. ALL this-and we are having a schedualed c-section on Thursday!!!!!! I thought i would be relaxing the week before having my baby but not so much, It's ok though because now the house will be ready for baby and visitors!

I bet it will kick in for you soon! In the mean time just relax because if it kicks in like my nesting stage you'll be exhausted!

I feel like I can't even begin to nest yet since we won't be getting our new house for another two weeks.  And even then, we won't be fully moved in until later in April.  I can't do anything about the baby's nursery until the end of March, after we've moved DH's condo furniture in (includes baby's furniture).  At least then we can paint, although DH isn't letting me join in on that because he doesn't want me to breathe the fumes.

I'm having to settle for dealing with all the other odds and ends...daycare and pediatrician, etc.

With my DS nesting hit around 26 weeks or so. With this one it hit strongly at 31 weeks. I HAD to get everything done in the babys room RIGHT now. lol. It went from chaos dump zone to ready to bring baby home in 3 days. lol. Including all laundry washed and folded.

Now I just walk in the room, look at it blankly and wonder what else I can do.

The rest of the house still looks like a bomb went off in it.
