I'm having some severe round ligament pain the point where I can't sleep on either side cause it's too painful, only back sleeping is manageable, is this ok??
I end up on my back a lot with this pregnancy and did with my 1st and everything seems fine so far. I try to sleep on my side, but sometimes it just isn't comfy.

I still sleep on my back from time to time but I usually wake up or roll over after a bit due to the heavy feeling in my abdomen. Your body will let you know when you shouldn't be sleeping on your back any longer.
I usually wake up on my back in the morning with no complaints. In previous pregnancies, there always came a point at which I'd wake on my back feeling tingly or short of breath...your body will wake you up if and when it becomes problematic.
I think there is too much hype about 'correct' sleeping positions - your body tells you if it has a problem sleeping in a particular way (just like as a constant stomach sleeper I'm no longer comfortable doing this), and from everything that I hear when your body is ready for you to only be on your side it sends you messages as well. It kind of sounds like in this case your body is actually telling you to stay on your back for now. I've been sleeping on my back and sides (however I end up flipping during the night), and everything always looks good at my appointments - both in terms of my progress and baby's. I wouldn't worry so much about the 'proper' sleeping position as much as about your own comfort and getting some good rest - you need as much of it as possible before you have LO!

I'm still rolling onto my back in my sleep. Generally when I wake up I feel ok except sometimes just a little short of breath and maybe a little achy. I've tried putting pillows behind my back so I can't roll onto my back but it doesn't work.
I always go to sleep on my side, but wake up on my stomach. I feel fine, and at least I am getting my rest. I know that my body, will tell me when I shouldn't be sleeping on my back anymore. I'm sure tons of mothers have slept on their backs before, and I know lots of women who have never even heard of this rule. Their children turned out fine.
Re: Back sleeping at 23 weeks.... Anyone??

My MW says to sleep how I am comfortable and not worry about a "right" position.
