always wake up the other baby?

so far i always wake up both boys if one eats and the other is asleep. usually they're up around the same time but not always. i am afraid to let them be too far off schedule but then sometimes you fight so much to get them to sleep, it seems wrong to go wake them up! what do you do?

  • Same schedule.  always.

  • When they are little, absolutely.  I never wanted to risk them getting on different schedules, and when they would sometimes it was awful!  Now that they're older, naps have stabilized, and I know how much sleep each tends to need, I'm not as strict about it, but we try to keep them on the same schedule.

  • There were several times I didn't wake the other one up at night bc I was just too tired and wanted to get back to sleep....that decision ALWAYS killed me. Like Ourgrad has said....keep them on the same schedule!

    every.single.time.

Before they are regularly sleeping through the night I say one up both up.

  • One up both up. Feed one, feed both. My two golden rules.

  • We tried for one night to not wake the second baby... he woke up just as I was finishing the first feeding anyway so I was up for twice as long as I would have been if I had just woken him and fed them together.

  • With my 11 week old girls, I tried an experiment just last night. I was scared to, but I thought, what the heck, why not? So when one woke at 4:30 am, I fed her but let the other sleep. Sure enough, the other one woke up an hour later wanting to eat. I decided that was the last time I would do that :)
