Lol. I love these. So the phone has been my saving grace during those long nursing sessions or when I rock her to sleep..but uh once, ok twice the phone slipped from my fingers and fell on her head. It wasn't far so she was fine. Also during the week I usually get ready for the day-hair/makeup while she takes her morning nap, but she doesn't always stay asleep long so I bring her in the bathroom with me and let her crawl around going in my closet and coming out to open cupboards.

I have dropped my phone on LO too! And I let LO crawl on the bathroom floor while I get ready in the mornings!

DS plays around on the bathroom floor when I'm getting ready as well. He likes to go through the bathroom cupboard and pull out things to play with. His favorites bathroom "toys" are pads, tampons and those foam toe separators that you use when you are painting your toe nails. It keeps him entertained so I don't exactly stop him.
Just the other day LO was crawling around his room, which is pretty baby proofed, while I was on this board and he tried to stand up and hold on to his dresser, slipped and hit his chin in the corner and started bleeding! tiny little cut but I felt the winner of the worst-mother-on-earth award!
On occasion I've sat DS in his exersaucer and turn the tv so I can eat in peace! Once while rocking him to sleep I dropped my cell on his head!
Oh! and one time I was running late for an appointment so I brought DS in his pj's and he ended spending the entire day in the same pj's! Lol
ive given him a hamburger and he took bites off of it while i was holding it. i have videos. He likes to pull up on the vacuum and it has fallen on him once. He has fallen off the bed 3 times and the couch twice.

One of DD's favorite activities is to pull apart kleenexes. I let her do it because it keeps her occupied for about 5 minutes for one kleenex (nice, solid German kleenexes here...), but she also likes to put the littlest pieces in her mouth. I try to stop her in time, but sometimes I either don't make it in time or don't notice and then see her "chewing."

Ds has fallen off the the couch and his changing table. I also put him in the excersaucer and put on sesame street so I can shower-he's strangely terrified of the bathroom shower curtain so I can't bring him in with me.

Funny, DS screams if I take him i the bathroom while I shower too. I guess it must be the curtain thing. hm!

Let's see...he's rolled off the bed, banged his mouth and cut his lip at the playground, I've definitely dropped my cell phone on his head and this is the worst one yet....he was playing in the bathroom while I was taking a bath (DH had to drop him with me for a few so he could take care of some random pressing task) and he was standing next to the tub dropping all of the shampoo bottles and his ducks into the water and we'll he decided to dive in...head first! Granted, I was RIGHT there but it was the freaking scariest thing. This is why we now do swimming lessons every Saturday morning.
I took DS to the park today and was watching him crawl around the grass when I saw him quickly shove something in his mouth. When I finally fished it out it was a dried up and chewed up old piece of some stranger's gum. I just about threw up in my mouth.
K pooped on the floor during bare bum time and I didn't see because I was texting someone. When I looked up she had the turd in her hand. No more texting during bare bum time for me.
K nurses to sleep every single time, it's just too easy, and I'm too lazy.
I used to bring DD in the bathroom with me in the morning but then I found her chewing on the little bolt cap thingies on the base of the toilet...ewwwww. She now sits in the hallway.
I'm debating with the McDonald's thing. So far, if hubs and i grab fast food, she gets lunchmeat and stuff at home. I'm thinking I'll wait until 1 for McD's but who knows. I won't say for sure on this one yet.
This hurts my heart. So I hope this is in reference to McD's apple slices...?
This makes me feel SO much better...i thought i was the only one that let her crawl on the bathroom floor while getting ready!
Shes fallen off the bed twice.
I try and bathe her everyday but some days she just gets a baby wipe bath lol
Ive let her nibble on fries...she hasnt had meat she just gets tiny pieces of bread if were eating burgers or something...
The worst...to me...is we have 2 dogs and i guess because she sees them lick each others faces she thinks thats what she should do....so if im not paying attention she will sit there and open her mouth and let our dog lick her...it grosses me out so much but she thinks its hilarious!

Why? It's not like I'm debating whether she'll get McDonald's once a week at age one or something but a couple french fries or chicken nuggets aren't going to hurt her either. Like I said, now when hubs and I get fast food (once or twice a month), she get some leftovers (which are almost always homemade and always include a protein, veggie, whole grains and sometimes a fruit).
But to say that there haven't been times when I thought "Man, just giving her a dang french fry would make this trip/night/mealtime a lot easier" would be lying. I'm just saying I plan on waiting until at least one before she gets her first taste of fast food. If she ends up getting it before then, oh well. It's never going to be a regular thing though and I don't feel like my post said that it would be.
Agreed -- everything in moderation. The fact that you were still "debating with the McDonald's thing" was pretty generic, and there ARE people out there who DO get it all the time, and introduce their kids to the same habit at an early age. So with a generalized statement like yours, where you were seemingly weighing your options, consider my comment a lighthearted way to possibly sway you.
You know there are some crazies out there...glad you are not one of them. ;-)
I laid camden down on the bed with me trying to get her to go to sleep (she has a double ear infection and is very fussy right now) and before i knew it, she crawled right off the bed. She didn't hurt herself, but was scared to death and it took maybe 15 Minutes to calm her down.
I give her french fries (although i do lick the salt off first)-gross i know.
I let her crawl around on the bathroom floor,
I use Goldfish crackers to keep her quiet in restaurants - junk food I know, but she LOVES THEM.
If the house ain't burned down and the baby's fed it was a successful day.
Re: What's your motherly confession?
DS rolled off of the couch when he was about 3 months old. Oops.
He figured out how to open cabinets today and I found him playing with a bottle of Windex. I guess its time to seriously baby-proof.

I let LO crawl on the floor in the garage when I am out in the garage doing laundry.
LO has rolled of the couch and the bed a handful of times, bad mom!
Hmmmm what else, Oh I let LO eat fries from McDonalds the other day, I dont always bathe my LO every day, heck I only wash my hair twice a week!
I can go on and on, lol.
I have dropped my phone on LO too! And I let LO crawl on the bathroom floor while I get ready in the mornings!
oh shoot. she's lucky if she gets 3 a week.
and ditto everyone else on the crawling all around the bathroom while i'm getting ready.
sometimes when she wakes up from her nap (or in the morning) i leave her in her bed if she's happy and cooing. the extra "me" time is wonderful.
and this wasn't my fault, but she definitely fell of the counter onto a hard floor last month. scariest thing of my life.
Baby #2 on the way!
These are too funny. Mine? Let's see..

Reese has had bits of a hamburger (granted, homemade but still!) and hotdogs (chopped up super small!)
I read or go on my iPad while she is playing in her room happily. I just sit in the recliner and relax
