Apple causing diaper rash?

We haven't officially started solids but if I'm eating an apple I rub my finger on it and let LO taste it.

The other day she got a few more tastes than usual  and she ended up with a diaper rash a little while later. It was clear in the morning.

I didn't immediately equate that with the apple but it happened a couple  more times and it finally clicked that it was the apple that was doing it. 

It's also happened with a pear.

 

Is this a sign of an allergy, a reaction to the acid in it, something she'll grow out of? Anyone else dealt with something like this?.

Do you use buttpaste or other cream? If you are going to feed even little bits of acidic food, then make sure there is some butt cream on there. It might be a reaction to the acidity of the fruit.

I don't know if I would go so far as to say allergy. Does she get irritation around her vulva/urethra? Theoretically the reaction would be present in her urine as well. So it would irritate her diaper area. 

It might be just that that one time the diaper stayed on too long? I don't know. DD had a little bit of apple juice (like a drop) off my finger the other day because she seemed so interested. Didn't give her diaper rash at all.
